DSL is a service that allows high speed access to the Internet. It is about 25 to 50 times faster than the speed of a dial-up. It shares the same phone line as your telephone service, but uses a different part of the phone line for bandwidth. It does not interfere with regular phone service. You will need to either purchase or rent a DSL modem and your computer must contain a a 10 base T ethernet card.
DSL is delivered across the telephone network backbone and is available in most locations; an ordinary telephone jack can be used to plug in to DSL.
